Strategi peningkatan prestasi atlet melalui pelatihan perhitungan training load di Barracuda's Swimming Club

Pelatihan beban latihan (training load) menjadi salah satu strategi penting dalam meningkatkan prestasi atlet, kurangnya pemahaman pelatih dan atlet terkait perhitungan training load menjadi fokus utama tim pengabdian untuk memfasilitasi. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan konsep perhitungan training load di Barracuda’s Swimming Club guna meminimalkan risiko cedera, overtraining, dan meningkatkan kinerja atlet. Training load terbagi menjadi beban latihan eksternal dan internal, di mana beban eksternal mengukur pekerjaan fisik yang dilakukan atlet, sedangkan beban internal mengevaluasi respons fisiologis dan psikologis terhadap latihan. Melalui pendekatan Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR), program pengabdian ini melibatkan kolaborasi dengan pelatih, atlet, dan wali atlet untuk menyusun dan mengimplementasikan program yang tepat. Kegiatan pelatihan mencakup dua sesi, dengan materi mengenai perhitungan training load, Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD), manajemen beban latihan, serta peran nutrisi dalam mendukung performa atlet. Hasil dari pretest dan posttest menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta mengenai training load. Berdasarkan analisis Paired T-Test, terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara skor pretest dan posttest dengan p-value 0,000, menegaskan bahwa pelatihan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman peserta terkait penghitungan training load. Dengan demikian, program ini dapat membantu pelatih dalam mengambil keputusan untuk mengatur beban latihan, meminimalkan cedera, dan memaksimalkan potensi atlet.
