Copyright Notice

Authors publishing in Journal of Science and Education (JSE) retain copyright in their articles and authorize publication under the terms described below.

1. Copyright Ownership

Copyright in each article remains with the author(s). Publication in JSE does not require the transfer of article copyright to the journal or publisher.

Authors must have the authority to authorize publication and licensing of their contributions. The corresponding author is responsible for confirming that all co-authors have approved the manuscript and agreed to these terms.

2. Rights Granted to the Journal

For articles accepted for publication, authors grant JSE the right of first journal publication and a non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, and preserve the article as part of the scholarly record.

These rights enable the journal to make the article available through its website and to facilitate indexing, discovery, and preservation. Authors remain free to exercise their retained copyright.

3. Licence Applied to Published Articles

Upon publication, articles are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), except for material clearly identified as being subject to different terms.

This licence permits sharing and adaptation, including commercial use, subject to attribution, the applicable ShareAlike requirements, and the other licence conditions. Users do not need separate journal permission for uses already permitted by the licence.

Detailed reuse conditions are explained on the Licensing Terms page and in the official licence.

CC BY-SA 4.0

4. Author Sharing and Additional Distribution

Authors may deposit and share the submitted manuscript (preprint), accepted manuscript, and published version in institutional or subject repositories and on their personal websites without an embargo.

Preprints and other relevant earlier versions must be disclosed at submission. Sharing a preprint does not constitute prior journal publication or permit simultaneous submission to another journal.

Once the article is published, authors should identify JSE as the place of first journal publication and provide the article's DOI or permanent URL. Deposited versions should be clearly labelled.

Authors may enter additional non-exclusive arrangements for distribution of their own work, including inclusion in a book or another collection, with acknowledgement of its original journal publication. Such arrangements do not withdraw rights already granted to users under CC BY-SA 4.0.

5. Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for appropriately crediting third-party material and obtaining permission where required. They must identify material that is not covered by the article's CC BY-SA 4.0 licence and state any separate terms in its credit line.

Users wishing to reuse excluded material must follow its applicable terms and obtain permission from the relevant rights holder where necessary. Authors cannot grant rights that they do not hold.

6. Scope of This Notice

This notice concerns scholarly articles and associated author-owned material. It does not automatically extend the article licence to the journal's name, logos, website design, or platform software, which remain subject to their respective ownership and licensing terms.
